Star Symphony Drone Shows lights up La Spezia, Italy with Giuliani Fireworks
In June 2025, the team at Star Symphony Drone Shows was honoured to collaborate with our Italian partners, Giuliani Fireworks, on a major international drone show in La Spezia, Northern Italy. Overlooking the stunning UNESCO coastline of Cinque Terre, La Spezia’s harbour provided a perfect stage for a drone light show on a grand scale.
Star Symphony handled the creative design for the show from our studios in Berkshire, while Giuliani Fireworks, who operate the same drone systems as us, prepared to fly a fleet of 400 drones for the display.
Working from a detailed brief provided by Giuliani Fireworks, our creative directors developed a clear storyboard to guide the design. A series of long Zoom calls between our teams gradually brought the project to life, resulting in a world-class drone show design that used the full 260-metre width of La Spezia’s harbour. The show also included a spectacular fireworks display alongside dancing fountains and flame systems, adding to the visual spectacle.
“I cried at your show, that makes you realise how much I enjoyed it. It was the best show I have ever seen here, we are very happy and hope for future collaboration”
At Star Symphony Drone Shows, we pride ourselves on designing drone light shows that make full use of the drones’ lighting capabilities, creating intense, dynamic sequences in the sky that few systems can match. For this show, our designers created a breath-taking 3D display that followed an enchanting soundtrack. Scenes included animated raindrops falling into the sea with circular ripples of light, a 100-metre-wide 3D drone recreation of the Amerigo Vespucci (the Italian Navy’s nearly 100-year-old training tall ship), and several designs celebrating 100 years of the Palio del Golfo, La Spezia’s annual rowing competition.
On the night, the drones took off in darkness, remaining unlit until they reached their positions, creating a moment of surprise as the drone light show unfolded over the harbour. The drones performed flawlessly, concluding with a beautiful multi-colour sequence as they returned to the harbour wall.
The event was a showcase of international cooperation, which is central to what we offer at Star Symphony Drone Shows. With world-class drone show design and our own fleet of drones based in the UK, including pyro drone capability (the ability to safely attach and fire pyrotechnics from drones), we can deliver high-impact drone light shows for clients worldwide.
Although we are one of the only operators in the UK authorised to fly pyro drones, this technology remains new in many countries, and we look forward to seeing it introduced in Italy in the future.
Following the show, social media was filled with stunning images and enthusiastic comments from those who attended. We loved working with Giuliani Fireworks on this La Spezia drone show and look forward to bringing the magic of drone light shows to more audiences around the world.

“We saw the 1700 drone show along the coast a few weeks ago, and your 400 drones were so beautiful and so much better ”
